TOP 10 MUST HAVE WARDROBE PIECES

September 27, 2017

With every fashion month, London, Paris, Milan and New York create new styles and trends that we want to keep up with. Regardless, the main staples in a wardrobe remain the same. All of these items are super easy to dress up or wear causally which is why I believe they are timeless and classic. The one thing to remember is that the fit, fabric and quality of these items are important as they are probably going to be some of your most worn and loved items in your wardrobe.

HERE IS MY TOP 10 WARDROBE PIECES:

1) The White Tee: I really believe that this goes without saying, finding a nice t-shirt is not hard. The whit shirt is easy to fit to whatever function your headed to. Pair it with a pair of boyfriend jeans and some trainers for a cute, casual look or pop on a pair of heels and tuck it into a skirt for a more dressy look. The options are endless when it comes to white shirts. SO, if you don't have, you should definitely invest in one. This will be super easy to find on the high street.

2) A black dress: Now, I know I didn't say LBD like usual, because in this day and age with midi dress and maxi dresses being all
the rage as long as you have a black dress in your closet, you are good to go. They come in so many different fits and fabric now, there is practically one for everyone. It is important that you get the dress that fits your figure perfectly because a black dress can either be your best friend or your worst enemy. Have a peek at this super flattering dress from Missguided

3) The go to pair of trainers: I'm not going to lie, for some people it may be only one pair but I have a couple that I alternate between because trainers are just so comfy especially when you're commuting on the train. Trust me when I say that rush hour on the London underground is similar to the Hunger Games in it's level of savagery. It's always lovely to feel comfy and you can always dress up a pair of trainers if you want to. There are so many options in the shoe game right now so have at it.

Pairing a chunky knit dress with tights and boots is a lovely way to go alongside layering it up with plaid shirt under and a pair of jeans for an everyday, stylish look. Whatever you're feeling you could probably throw a chunky sweater on top and it'll probably work which is why I love it so.
5) The longline blouse: What? Why? You may be asking. Well, if I haven't made it clear throughout the article, I LOVE TO LAYER. Now, depending on what you put on top of the blouse it is interchangeable, from formal to dressy to casual incredibly easily. A longline blouse can be worn as a dress because of its length, paired with a crop top and maxi skirt and because of it length and fit, the blouse can be incredibly flattering.

6) The Chelsea Boot: The Chelsea boot is genuinely one of the most versatile shoes, they truly go with anything and there is definitely a pair for everyone. They come in different colours and heights and you can practically customise them to suit you because of the sheer amount of them that are in the market.

7) The oversized coat:  This is not only an essential for those who live in cold weather but the oversized coat is the best protect. While the oversized coat has a reputation of making us look bulky, I really have found that loads of store such as New Look, Missguided, Boohoo and a loads of other retailers have found a way to make the oversized jacket flattering and stylish. We all know they have the comfort factor in the winter and the style factor has definitely been injected in these recent months meaning that walking around in a huge blanket has become socially acceptable. PLEASE BE AS EXCITED AS ME.

8) Jumpsuit: I really thing the quality of jumpsuits recently have upped their game. The thing about jumpsuits is that they're genuinely amongst the most versatile clothing, great for the summer and a knitted one for the winter would do you well. They can also be worn causal, dressy and formal. Culottes, wide leg, tailored, the list just goes on. If you haven't already invest in a couple they really are timeless.

9) Pumps: These just sort of go without saying. Pumps are the staple item, for some women they are the go to heel they grab on the way to work (to you girls, I salute you, I can barely go 1 hour without borderline crying), the dressy shoe (me) or are just sitting there, never to be worn. Nevertheless, they should be there, a pair of pumps can add that touch of formality to an outfit, they can make a completely casual outfit suddenly one for a night out, the right pair can even pass as casual. Whatever the cause, they can most likely fit the purpose. I love them, but it wasn't always that way, I just need to see the right pair and the understanding kicks. So, in my opinion it's not an if, but a when.

10) Straight leg jeans: Finally, last but definitely not the least comes a wardrobe comfort that definitely fits the "what everyone needs in their closet" description. They give a welcome break from the skirts and those skinny jeans that we're used to and allows us to be mobile and comfy and adorbs. In my opinion, these will shoot to the top of everyones list this year and I am here for it. Class and comfort all the way and it is easily achieved as well.

That wraps up my top 10 must have wardrobe pieces, trends may come and go but these items are so easy to build up around trends and stay stylish season round.

Hope you guys have all enjoyed my first proper post! My next one will be up in the next couple of days!!

If you are reading this WELCOME to my very first blog post!

My name is Amal. I’m an 18 year old girl living in London who is absolutely obsessed with all things fashion and beauty. I have wanted to start a blog for the longest time and I have finally taken the plunge. I cannot wait to share my favourite products, beauty and fashion tips.

Although I love shopping and living in London, I am well aware that a lot of  popular products that are advertised and events that happen in London  tend to also come with a very large price tag on the side. I want to show that it's not hard to achieve the look you want and enjoy yourself without having to break the bank. I am always looking for new brands and activities to try out, so please don't hesitate to throw a couple of suggestions my way, I'll definitely have a go!

Anyway, that is enough from me now, I'm so excited to finally start this and I hope you enjoy what is to come.

See you soon,
Amal
